OMERAD Faculty Development Seminar Series Fall 2009
Using Digital Communication Tools to
Enhance Teaching and Scholarly Activities
The OMERAD Faculty Development Seminar Series focuses on helping faculty and staff develop skills to further medical education. This year we will focus on how digital communication tools can enhance your teaching and scholarly activities.
Fall semester sessions will feature a new seminar on how to create your own poster design from scratch using PowerPoint. The series also offers a session on Web 2.0 tools that will explore technologies such as wikis, blogs, and cloud computing that can be used for teaching. Another session will show you how to participate in video conferencing on your computer using MUS's free desktop video conferencing system, Acrobat Connect (Breeze). Instruction on how to use ANGEL is available by arrangement.
The Faculty Development Seminar Series, conducted by experienced OMERAD faculty and staff, uses the validated format of hands-on training sessions, individual practice with instructor support, and take-home training materials. Sessions will be held in the OMERAD Training Center, located in A-211 East Fee Hall. All faculty, staff and graduate students are welcome to attend.
You must be familiar with basic mouse, keyboard and Windows skills to participate in the seminar series.
To register, please contact us by email: omerad@msu.edu . Enrollment in all sessions is limited to 18.
