The OMERAD Faculty Development Seminar Series focuses on helping faculty and staff develop skills to further medical education. This year we will be focusing on skills for online instruction.
Fall semester participants will learn how to use Adobe Acrobat Connect (formerly Breeze Live) for web-based video conferencing. We will introduce you to Web 2.0 tools such as podcasting, wikis, blogs, and cloud computing. The ever-popular seminar on how to create a poster using PowerPoint will be offered again this year. Instruction on how to use ANGEL is available by arrangement.
Spring semester is devoted to three workshops on creating and recording online lessons. More details about this will be forthcoming.
The Faculty Development Seminar Series, conducted by experienced OMERAD faculty and staff, uses the validated format of hands-on training sessions, individual practice with instructor support, and take-home training materials. Sessions will be held in the OMERAD Training Center, located in A-211 East Fee Hall. All faculty, staff and graduate students are welcome to attend.
You must be familiar with basic mouse, keyboard and Windows skills to participate in the seminar series.
To register, please contact us by email: omerad@msu.edu . Enrollment in all sessions is limited to 18.
